How It Started

“God was doing something in my heart today. I am feeling drawn to serve these people.”

“Really?! I feel the same way.”

This was our conversation during a visa renewal trip to Nicaragua. Nearly a year later, God opened the doors to allow us to make a new home near the southern pacific coast.

We met while serving God in Costa Rica. It was amazing to see how God had given each of us the same heart for the children of Latin America. After teaching at a missionary school in San Jose, and later working in a children’s home and feeding centers in the mountains, God started drawing us toward ministry in Nicaragua.

Our Ministries

When we moved to Nicaragua in 2020, we jumped right into ministry by starting a Kids' Club, where we sing songs, teach the Bible, memorize verses, teach English, and lead activities. We now have nearly 20 kids that come 2 days a week, and we've seen them learn so much! Meghan also teaches a Bible study for older girls, and Josh leads an adult Bible study. Now that we live in Papayal, the neighborhood where we hold these ministries, we have also been ministering to the families of "our kids".

Whether we are looking for individuals to disciple, or whether they come looking for us, a major focus has been individual discipleship. Because most people are desperate for work, we often help them start a business (physical need) while sharing the gospel and discipling them (spiritual need).
